Tonight we watched a documentary called “A Film Unfinished”. This was a documentary on the Jewish ghettos that were established and springing up all across the eastern world during World War two. An average person today can only imagine the terrible conditions that people had to with stand. Circumstances such as overcrowding, malnourishment, unnecessary aggression, an over whelming amount of lies and propaganda, and death. In this motion picture there is actually a couple of surviving parties that are willing to go on camera and give their first hand testimonies, reflect on their memories, and even add corrections to inaccurate statements.One woman was reflecting on her living quarters during her oppression at this particular concentration camp. She goes on to say how her and her mother were given this small one bedroom apartment.Unfortunately,another family which they had never been acquainted with moves in unexpectedly and takes over the bedroom. Another misfortune was the lack of food for the inhabitants. In the film there is several frames where you see dead bodies just laying out on the side of the street like its no big deal. Their ribs almost forcing themselves through the skin. One girl reflected on the joy she felt when her mother gave her a simple slice of bread. Just do not get caught trying to smuggle food. The punishment for such a deed is punishable by death.Although this is a highly unreasonable consequence, I would personally prefer it next to the daily senseless beatings these people endured.Lastly, we will discuss the propaganda. These ghettos were filmed and made out to be like a wonderful safe haven when it was actually just the opposite. Films such as these were used to actually lure Jews to their own demise. As if it wasn’t already making a mockery. So as we see,these were terrible times.documented and forever engraved in the minds of human beings everywhere.
